What’s this all about then?
Whilst this blog is not the usual promotion orientated mulch you’ve come to expect from web developer’s offerings these days, I feel that you should be aware of a few facts concerning IceGiant’s history to appreciate the sometimes bitter-sweet and often cynical approach taken by this blog as time goes on.
IceGiant web design (Yes I know, it’s a link; but without it, would you know what the thing actually looks like?) was conceived in 1999 during my early days as a web developer.
Although the name stems primarily from the fact that I think its an absolute cracker it has served more than adequately during the intervening years, so much so that it was subject to an elaborate domain hijack attempt during 2003 which resulted in 18 months of legal wrangling before control was finally returned to myself and the team (one other developer and two graphic artists at the time).
You could say that we feel quite strongly about this domain; IceGiant is as much an attitude as a brand.
In any case; the point is that we are not what you might call a conventional web studio.
Our team is more like a close family (full of bickering and infantile behaviour) and our views and opinions reflect this.
As time goes on, I hope that the other guys will take a hand in providing some input into this blog and put their own spin on the load of old toot which makes up ‘The Human Race? An Outside Point of View.’
